Fuel Tanker Rollover Causes Closure of QEW in Beamsville
A collision involving a fuel tanker and multiple vehicles has resulted in the closure of parts of the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) between Ontario St to Beamsville and Victoria Ave. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are actively searching for an 'aggressive' driver who caused the tanker truck to rollover near Beamsville. As a result of the crash, the Toronto-bound lanes have since reopened, but the Fort Erie-bound lanes remain closed. The closure is expected to last for several hours as crews work to clean up the fuel spill. The OPP has also released a statement seeking information on a black Mercedes that triggered the multi-vehicle collision. Additionally, authorities are searching for a fail-to-remain driver who was involved in the crash. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays. The QEW has now reopened between Ontario St to Beamsville and Victoria Ave following the cleanup efforts. Raw video footage shows the aftermath of the tanker truck overturn near the QEW in Beamsville.
