U.S. President Joe Biden is set to visit Canada on March 23 and 24 for his first bilateral meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Biden will arrive in Ottawa on March 23 and will be greeted by several Canadian officials, including Governor General Mary Simon, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland. Biden will then be taken to Rideau Cottage to have an informal meeting with Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau.

On March 24, Biden's main day in Canada, he will have a bilateral meeting with Trudeau, followed by an extended meeting with ministers. The morning meetings will be followed by Biden's speech to Parliament, where he is expected to underscore the importance of the U.S.-Canada partnership and address global challenges. Biden and Trudeau will then participate in a joint media availability before attending a gala dinner hosted by Trudeau and his wife. The event will be attended by ambassadors, business leaders, members of Parliament, senators, and representatives of Indigenous groups. Biden's visit marks the first in-person bilateral meeting between the two leaders in Canada since 2009.
